The Event – Al-Waqi’a
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
[56.1] When the Event (the resurrection) comes
[56.2] there is no denying its coming
[56.3] (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others).
[56.4] When the earth is shaken
[56.5] and the mountains fragmented
[56.6] becoming scattered dust,
[56.7] you shall be divided into three parties,
[56.8] Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right?
[56.9] Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left?
[56.10] And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers
[56.11] those are they brought near (to their Lord)
[56.12] in the Gardens of Delight,
[56.13] a host of the ancients
[56.14] but only a few from the later generations.
[56.15] on lavish couches
[56.16] they shall recline, facing each other,
[56.17] (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths
[56.18] with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring
[56.19] that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate,
[56.20] with fruits of their own choice
[56.21] and any flesh of fowl that they desire.
[56.22] And wide-eyed houris
[56.23] like hidden pearls,
[56.24] a recompense for all that they did.
[56.25] There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin,
[56.26] but only the saying: ‘Peace, Peace!’
[56.27] The Companions of the Right
[56.28] (will be) among thornless Lote trees.
[56.29] Banana-trees, piled
[56.30] and continuous shade,
[56.31] and flowing water
[56.32] and an abundance of fruits,
[56.33] unfailing and not forbidden.
[56.34] And couches raised up.
[56.35] Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women),
[56.36] and made them virgins,
[56.37] chaste, loving companions of the same age
[56.38] for the Companions of the Right –
[56.39] a multitude of the ancients,
[56.40] and a multitude of the later people.
[56.41] As for the Companions of the Left
[56.42] (they shall live) amid burning winds and boiling water,
[56.43] in the shadow of a smoking blaze,
[56.44] neither cool nor good.
[56.45] Before they lived at ease,
[56.46] and persisted in the great sin
[56.47] and constantly said: ‘What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be restored to life?
[56.48] What, and our fathers, the ancients?’
[56.49] Say: ‘Those of ancient times and those of later times
[56.50] shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day.’
[56.51] Then you went astray, you that belied,
[56.52] you shall eat (the fruit) of the Tree of Zakkum.
[56.53] You shall fill your bellies with it,
[56.54] and drink boiling water on top of that,
[56.55] and you will drink as the lapping of thirsty camels.
[56.56] Such shall be your hospitality on the Day of Recompense.
[56.57] We created you, why will you not believe!
[56.58] Have you thought about what (sperm) you ejaculate?
[56.59] Did you create it, or are We the Creator?
[56.60] It was We who decreed death among you. We will not be surpassed
[56.61] that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know.
[56.62] You have surely known of the first creation. Why then, will you not remember!
[56.63] Ponder upon the soil you till,
[56.64] is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower?
[56.65] If We will, We would make it broken stubble and you would remain wondering,
[56.66] (Saying:) ‘We are laden with debts!
[56.67] Rather, we have been prevented!’
[56.68] Have you thought about the water you drink?
[56.69] Is it you that send it down from the clouds or We?
[56.70] If We will, We would make it bitter, why then do you not give thanks?
[56.71] Have you thought about the fire you kindle?
[56.72] Is it you that originated its tree, or are We the Originator?
[56.73] We have made it a reminder, and a blessing to the traveler.
[56.74] Then, exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great.
[56.75] I swear by the fallings of the stars –
[56.76] and that is a mighty oath, if you but knew –
[56.77] it is indeed a Glorious Koran,
[56.78] in a Book protected (from tampering)
[56.79] which none shall touch except the purified;
[56.80] a sending down from the Lord of all the Worlds.
[56.81] What, do you hold this discourse in disdain,
[56.82] do you make it your provision to belie it?
[56.83] Why, then, when the soul leaps up to the throat of the dying
[56.84] and you are watching at that time
[56.85] We are nearer to him than you, but you do not see
[56.86] why then, if you are not revived,
[56.87] do you not restore his soul, if you are truthful?
[56.88] If he is among the near
[56.89] there shall be calmness and ease, a Garden of Delight.
[56.90] If he is a Companion of the Right
[56.91] (he will be greeted with): ‘Peace be upon you, Companion of the Right!’
[56.92] But, if he is of those who belied, and went astray,
[56.93] there shall be a hospitality of boiling water,
[56.94] and a roasting in Hell.
[56.95] Indeed, this is the certain truth.
[56.96] So exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great.

The Iron – Al-Hadeed
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
[57.1] All that is in the heavens and earth exalt Allah. He is the Almighty, the Wise.
[57.2] To Him belongs the Kingdom in the heavens and earth. It is He who revives and causes to die, and He has power over all things.
[57.3] He is the First and the Last, the Clear and the Hidden. He has knowledge of all things.
[57.4] He created the heavens and the earth in six days, and willed to the Throne. He knows what penetrates the earth and all that emerges from it; all that descends from heaven and all that ascends to it. He is with you wherever you are. Allah sees the things you do.
[57.5] To Him belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth. To Him all matters shall return.
[57.6] He causes the night to enter into the day and the day to enter into the night. He has knowledge of the thoughts of the innermost of the chests.
[57.7] Believe in Allah and His Messenger and spend (in charity) of that which He has made you successors. Whosoever of you believes and spends shall have a mighty wage.
[57.8] Why is it that you do not believe in Allah, when the Messenger calls on you to believe in your Lord, and He has made a covenant with you if you are believers?
[57.9] It is He who sends down clear verses to His worshiper, so that He brings you out of the darkness into the light. Indeed, Allah is the Gentle, the Most Merciful to you.
[57.10] And why is it that you do not spend in the Way of Allah, when the inheritance of the heavens and earth belong to Allah alone? Those who spent before the victory and took part in the fighting are mightier in rank and are not equal to those who spent and fought thereafter. Yet, Allah has promised each a fine reward, and Allah is Aware of what you do.
[57.11] Who will lend a generous loan to Allah? He will multiply it for him and he shall receive a generous wage.
[57.12] The Day (will surely come) when you shall see believing men and women with their light running before them on their right hands, (it will be said to them): ‘Glad tidings for you this Day. You shall live for ever in Gardens underneath which rivers flow! That is indeed the mighty triumph.
[57.13] On that Day the hypocrites, both men and women, will say to the believers: ‘Wait for us so that we can take from your light.’ But they will be answered: ‘Go back and seek a light!’ And a wall with a door shall be between them. Inside it there is mercy, and outside will be the punishment.
[57.14] They will call out to them, saying: ‘Were we not with you?’ ‘Yes,’ they will reply, ‘but you tempted yourselves, you waited (for problems to befall the believers), and you doubted, and were deluded by your own fancies until the Command of Allah came, and the deluder (satan) deluded you concerning Allah.
[57.15] Today no ransom shall be accepted from you or from the unbelievers. Your shelter is the Fire, that is your sponsor, the worst arrival!’
[57.16] Is it not time that the hearts of the believers be humbled to the Remembrance of Allah and the truth which He has sent down? They should not be like those who were given the Book before this, whose time became very long so that their hearts became hardened. Many of them were impious.
[57.17] Know that Allah revives the earth after it was dead. We have made plain to you the signs in order that you understand.
[57.18] Indeed, those who give in charity, be they men or women, and those who lend a good loan to Allah, shall be repaid in multiples. They shall receive a generous wage.
[57.19] Those who believe in Allah and His Messengers are the sincere and the martyrs before their Lord, they shall have their reward and their light. But those that disbelieve and belied Our verses are the inhabitants of Gehenna (Hell).
[57.20] Know that the life of this world is but play and an amusement, and adornment, and a cause for boasting among you, a rivalry for greater riches and children. It is like rain whose vegetation pleases the unbelievers, but then it withers and turns yellow, becoming broken stubble. In the Everlasting Life is a terrible punishment, forgiveness, and great pleasure from Allah. The life of this world is nothing except the joy of delusion.
[57.21] Therefore, race for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Garden as wide as heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His Messengers. Such is the Favor of Allah; He gives it to whom He will. Allah is the Owner of great favor.
[57.22] No affliction can befall either the earth, or yourself, except that it is (written) in a Book before We created it. That is easy for Allah;
[57.23] so that you will not be saddened for whatever does not come to you, nor be overjoyed in what has come to you. Allah does not love those who are proud and boastful
[57.24] nor those who are mean, and encourage others to be mean. And he that turns away, (know) that Allah is Rich and Praised.
[57.25] We have sent Our Messengers with proofs, and sent them with the Book and the Scales, so that people might establish the Scale (of justice). We have sent down iron in which there is great might and diverse benefit for people, so that Allah knows those who help Him and His Messengers in the Unseen. Indeed, Allah is the Strong, the Almighty.
[57.26] We sent forth Noah and Abraham, and appointed the Prophethood and the Book to be given to their descendants. Some were guided, but many were impious.
[57.27] Following them We sent Our (other) Messengers, and We sent following in their footsteps, (Prophet) Jesus, the son of Mary and gave him the Gospel, and put tenderness and mercy in the hearts of his followers. As for monasticism, they invented it thereby seeking the pleasure of Allah. We did not write it for them, and they did not observe it as it should be observed. We gave to those of them who believed their wage, but many of them are impious.
[57.28] Believers, fear Allah and believe in His Messenger (Prophet Muhammad), He will give you a double portion of His Mercy and He will make for you a light in which to walk, and forgive you; Allah is the Forgiver and the Most Merciful.
[57.29] So that the People of the Book may know that they have no power over any of the favors of Allah; that the favors are in the Hand of Allah; He gives it to whom He will. The Favor of Allah is the Great.

The Reasoning – Al-Mujadala
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
[58.1] Allah has heard the words of her that reasons with you (Prophet Muhammad) concerning her husband and made her complaint to Allah. Allah has heard both of you discussing with one another. Indeed, Allah is the Hearer, the Seer.
[58.2] Those of you who say to their wives, ‘Be as my mother’s back,’ indeed, they are not their mothers. Their mothers are only those who gave birth to them. Indeed they speak dishonorably and falsely. But Allah is the Pardoning, the Forgiving.
[58.3] Those who say to their wives, ‘Be as my mother’s back,’ then retract their words thereafter shall set a person free before they touch each other again. By that you are admonished. Allah is Aware of all that you do.
[58.4] He who is unable shall fast for two successive months before they touch one another. If he is unable to do this, let him feed sixty needy people – that, so that you believe in Allah and His Messenger. Such are the bounds of Allah. There is a painful punishment awaiting the unbelievers.
[58.5] Those who oppose Allah and His Messenger shall be frustrated just as those before them were frustrated. We have sent down proofs and clear verses, and for the unbelievers, there is a humiliating punishment.
[58.6] On the Day when Allah will raise them up all together He will inform them of what they did. Allah has taken count of it, although they have forgotten. Allah is Witness to all things.
[58.7] Have you not seen that Allah knows that which is in the heavens and the earth? There is no secret talk between three but He is the fourth of them; nor between five but He is the sixth of them; nor between fewer or more but He is with them wherever they are. Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will inform them of what they have done. Surely, Allah has knowledge of all things.
[58.8] Have you not seen those who were forbidden to talk in secrecy together? They return to that which they are forbidden and talk secretly together in sin and hatred, and in disobedience to the Messenger. Then, when they come to you they greet you with greetings with which Allah does not greet you, and they say within themselves: ‘Why does Allah not punish us for what we say?’ Gehenna (Hell) suffices them, they shall be roasted, an evil arrival!
[58.9] Believers, when you talk in secret do not talk together in sin and hatred, and disobedience towards the Messenger, but talk of piety and caution. Fear Allah before whom you shall be gathered.
[58.10] Talking together maliciously in secret is from satan, so that believers should sorrow, yet he can not harm them at all, except by the permission of Allah. In Allah let the believers put their trust.
[58.11] Believers, make room in your sitting places when it is asked of you, and Allah will make room for you. When you are asked to move, so move, and Allah will raise up in ranks those who believed among you and those who have been given knowledge. Allah is Aware of what you do.
[58.12] Believers, when you consult with the Messenger, present before your consultation a free will offering. That is best and purest for you. But if you lack the means, Allah is the Forgiver and the Most Merciful.
[58.13] Are you afraid to offer a freewill offering before your consultation? But if you do not, Allah will turn to you again, then establish the prayer and pay the obligatory charity, and be obedient to Allah and His Messenger. Allah is Aware of what you do.
[58.14] Do you see those who have been guided by a nation that incurred the Wrath of Allah? They belong neither to you, nor to them, and knowingly they swear to lies.
[58.15] Allah has prepared for them a grievous punishment. Evil indeed is that which they have done.
[58.16] They have taken their oaths as a disguise and bar from the Way of Allah, so a humiliating punishment awaits them.
[58.17] Neither their wealth nor their children shall help them a thing against Allah. They are the inhabitants of the Fire, and there they shall live for ever.
[58.18] On the Day when Allah shall raise them all up, they will swear to Him as they now swear to you thinking that they are upon something. Indeed, they are the liars!
[58.19] satan has mastered them and caused them to forget the Remembrance of Allah. Those are satan’s party; and satan’s party shall assuredly be the losers.
[58.20] Those who oppose Allah and His Messenger shall be among the humiliated.
[58.21] Allah has written: ‘I will surely be the Victor, I and My Messengers.’ Surely, Allah is the Strong, the Almighty.
[58.22] You shall find no nation believing in Allah and the Last Day loving anyone that opposes Allah and His Messenger, even though they be their fathers, their sons, their brothers, or their tribe. Those, He has written upon their hearts faith and strengthened them with a spirit from Him. He will admit them to the Gardens underneath which rivers flow, where they shall live for ever. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. They are the Party of Allah; and the Party of Allah are the winners.

The Gathering – Al-Hashr
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
[59.1] All that is in heavens and earth exalt Allah. He is the Almighty, the Wise.
[59.2] It was He who expelled the unbelievers among the People of the Book from their homes into the first exile. You did not think that they would go out, and they thought their fortresses would protect them from Allah. But Allah came upon them from where they did not expect, casting terror into their hearts that their homes were destroyed by their own hands as well as by the hands of the believers. Therefore, take heed you that have eyes.
[59.3] Had it been that Allah had not decreed that they should be dispersed, He would have surely punished them in this world. And in the Everlasting Life the punishment of the Fire awaits them,
[59.4] because they broke their promise with Allah and His Messenger; and whosoever breaks their promise with Allah – Allah is Stern in retribution.
[59.5] Whatever palm-tree you cut down or left standing upon its roots, it is by the permission of Allah, so that He might humiliate the impious.
[59.6] And whatever spoils of war Allah has given to His Messenger from them, you hastened on neither horse nor camel against them, but Allah gives His Messengers authority over whom He will. Allah is Powerful over all things.
[59.7] The spoils of war taken from the villagers and given by Allah to His Messenger belong to Allah, His Messenger and the near kinsmen, the orphans, the needy and the destitute traveler, so that it is not something taken in turns by the rich among you. Whatever the Messenger gives you, accept it; and whatever he forbids you, abstain. And fear Allah; surely, Allah is Stern in retribution.
[59.8] (A share of the spoils shall also be given) to the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and their possessions, who seek the Favor and Pleasure of Allah, and help Allah and His Messenger. These are they that are truthful.
[59.9] And those before them who had made their dwelling in the abode (the City of Madinah), and because of their belief love those who have emigrated to them; they do not find any (envy) in their chests for what they have been given and prefer them above themselves, even though they themselves have a need. Whosoever is saved from the greed of his own soul, they are the ones who win.
[59.10] Those who came after them say: ‘Forgive us our Lord, and forgive our brothers who were believers before us. Do not put in our hearts any spite towards those who believe. Lord, You are the Gentle, the Most Merciful.’
[59.11] Have you not seen the hypocrites? They say to their brothers among the People of the Book who disbelieve, ‘If they expel you, we will go with you. We will never obey anyone against you. If they fight against you we will certainly help you.’ But Allah bears witness that they are, without doubt, liars.
[59.12] If they are expelled or fought against, they will not go with them, nor will they will help them. Indeed, if they helped them, they would turn their backs and then they would not be helped.
[59.13] Their fear of you in their hearts is greater than their fear of Allah; that is because they are a people who do not understand.
[59.14] They will never fight against you all together except from fortified villages or from behind walls. Their courage is great among themselves; you think them to be united, yet their hearts are not united. That is because they are a people who have no sense.
[59.15] Just as those who, not long before, tasted the mischief of their actions, there awaits for them a painful punishment.
[59.16] Like satan when he said to the human, ‘Disbelieve’; then as soon as he disbelieved, he said, ‘Indeed, I am innocent of you, surely, I fear Allah, the Lord of all the Worlds.’
[59.17] Their end shall be that they live for ever in the Fire. That is the recompense of the harmdoers.
[59.18] Believers, fear Allah. Let every soul look to what it has forwarded for the future, and fear Allah, for Allah is Aware of the things you do.
[59.19] Do not be like those who have forgotten Allah so that He has caused them to forget their souls. Those, they are the evildoers.
[59.20] The inhabitants of the Fire and the inhabitants of Paradise are not equal. The inhabitants of Paradise shall be triumphant.
[59.21] Had We sent down this Koran upon a mountain, you would have seen it humble itself and split asunder for fear of Allah. Such are the parables we strike for people so that they will reflect.
[59.22] He is Allah, there is no god except He. He knows the Unseen and the Visible. He is the Merciful, the Most Merciful.
[59.23] He is Allah, there is no god except He. He is the King, the Pure, the Peace, the Confirmer, the Watchful, the Almighty, the Compeller, the Sublime. Exalted is Allah, above all that they associate!
[59.24] He is Allah, the Creator, the Originator, the Shaper. To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. All that is in the heavens and earth exalt Him. He is the Almighty, the Wise.

Tested – Al-Mumtahana
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
[60.1] Believers, do not take My enemy and your enemy for your guides, offering them love when they have disbelieved the truth that has come to you, who expel the Messenger and yourselves because you believe in Allah, your Lord! If you go out to struggle in My way seeking My pleasure, but secretly love them, I know well what you conceal and what you reveal; whosoever of you does this will have gone astray from the Right Path.
[60.2] If they come upon you, they will be your enemies, and stretch out their hands and tongues to do evil to you. They wish that you would disbelieve.
[60.3] On the Day of Resurrection neither your blood relatives nor your children shall be of benefit to you. Allah will differentiate between you, and Allah sees the things you do.
[60.4] You have a good example in Abraham and those with him. They said to their nation: ‘We are quit of you, and that which you worship, other than Allah. We disbelieve you, enmity and hatred has shown itself between us for ever until you believe in Allah alone.’ Except that Abraham said to his father: ‘Surely, I shall supplicate to ask for forgiveness for you although I have no power to do anything for you with Allah.’ ‘ Our Lord, in You we have put our trust; to You we turn, and to You is the arrival,
[60.5] Our Lord, do not make us a temptation for the unbelievers and forgive us. Our Lord, You are the Almighty, the Wise.’
[60.6] In those there is a good example for whosoever hopes for Allah and the Last Day. Whosoever turns away, indeed, Allah is the Rich and the Praised.
[60.7] It may be that Allah establishes love between you and those with whom you are at enmity. Allah is the Powerful, Allah is the Forgiving and the Most Merciful.
[60.8] Allah does not forbid you to be kind and to act justly to those who have neither made war on your Religion nor expelled you from your homes. Allah loves the just.
[60.9] But Allah only forbids you to be guided by those who have fought against you in your religion’s cause and expelled you from your homes or have supported others in your expulsion. Whosoever takes them as guides are harmdoers.
[60.10] Believers, when believing women come to you as emigrants, test them. Allah best knows their belief. If you find them to be believers do not return them to the unbelievers; they are not permitted to the unbelievers, nor are the unbelievers permitted to them. But give back to the unbelievers what they have spent, and there is no fault in you to marry such women, provided you give them their dowries. Do not hold on to the ties with unbelieving women, ask what you have spent and let them ask what they have spent. Such is the Judgement of Allah; He judges between you; and Allah is the Knower, and the Wise.
[60.11] If any of your wives desert you to be with the unbelievers and you retaliate, give those whose wives who have deserted the equivalent of what they have spent. And fear Allah in whom you believe.
[60.12] O Prophet, when believing women come to you and swear loyalty to you upon the condition that they will not associate anything with Allah, and will not steal, nor commit adultery, nor slay their children, nor fabricate slander between their hands and their feet, nor disobey you in any honorable thing, supplicate to Allah for forgiveness for them, Allah is the Forgiving and the Most Merciful.
[60.13] Believers, do not take as guides those who have incurred the Wrath of Allah and who despair of the Everlasting Life (to come), like the unbelievers despaired of the inhabitants of the tombs (that they shall be resurrected).
